Bob Peden is now running for City Council as he plans on dealing with the proposed multiplex, something he is against. Sharice Billet Niedermayer says we need the facility in order to grow.

He wants to make sure that majority rules when it comes to decision on our proposed multiplex. That's the main reason Bob Peden is running for city council.

You may recognize Peden if you signed a petition to vote on the city's 15 million-dollar commitment to the project. Peden is one of the organizers of that petition. When we spoke with him earlier this summer Peden was undecided on how he was going to vote but two months later he is encouraging people to vote "No" on October 25th.

However, Peden has other ideas, too. He'd like to see us take advantage of our geo thermal waters and look into using it for power and energy. "As well I'm also considering that council should be more open and responsive to the people and not resist when they want to have their input on an issue."

Peden is familiar with the political process, as he was the former constituency assistant for our local NDP MLA.

In the mean time our 4th female candidate in this election disagrees with Peden's thoughts on the multiplex.

Sharice Billet Niedermayer supports the project because it has to potential to grow our city and attract some new businesses. "I want to make sure that we take a look into it but not for too long so we lose the Warriors, and find the best place to put it based on feasibility studies for the long term. Not for 5 years, I'm talking long term! We need to make sure that we make the right decision on location and style to have Moose Jaw grow. Its been sitting in one area for too long and we need to see some growth."

Billet Niedermayer grew up in Kyle, Saskatchewan and has made Moose Jaw her home for the past year-and-a-half.
