Crime Stoppers Moose Jaw says 2018 was one of their best years ever, and they're going to be presenting statistics to prove it at their general meeting on Tuesday.

Chairman of Crime Stoppers Moose Jaw, Lyle Johnson, says a lot of their recent success is due in large part to the advancements in technology.

"We use texting, we also have a website where people are able to contact the crime prevention program and they can call or message it in. Its been very responsive and very successful"

According to Johnson, the program seems to be more successful with each passing year.

"Its doing very well. We have incorporated a lot of technology the last couple years. For example, texting, blogs, and this year looks to be one of the most successful years ever in crimes solved by tips sent to Crime Stoppers".

"It just blossomed with phone calls coming in, text messages, and all the other ways people can respond to the program" says Johnson, "There's been a lot of cases solved. Traditionally we receive between 100-200 calls per year, but this year it was over 200".

Tuesdays Crime Stopper general meeting will be held at City Hall at 7:30.
