The Moose Jaw Warriors continue to prepare for a pair of Western Hockey League games over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The Warriors will visit the Saskatoon Blades on Friday before returning home Saturday night to host the Prince Albert Raiders at Temple Gardens Centre.
Around the WHL last night, the Swift Current Broncos improved to 4-2 on the season with a 3-2 shootout win over the Penticton Vees, while the Brandon Wheat Kings edged the Vancouver Giants 2-1 in a shootout.
Triple-A clubs back in action
There are two Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League games on tap tonight.
The Regina Pat Canadians will host the Saskatoon Contacts, while the Notre Dame Hounds welcome the Yorkton Maulers to Wilcox.
Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw WINMAR Warriors will be on home ice this weekend for a pair of games against Warman.
Hudyma gets first taste of junior hockey
Moose Jaw product Carter Hudyma is adjusting to life in junior hockey with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's La Ronge Ice Wolves.
The former Notre Dame Hound and Tisdale Trojan is in his rookie SJHL season and continuing to learn the junior game while carving out a role with the Ice Wolves.
Hudyma and La Ronge are back in action tonight when they take on the Warman Wolverines.
High school volleyball action heats up
Several local and area high school volleyball teams were on the court Wednesday night.
The Notre Dame Hounds junior boys posted a straight-sets victory over Riverview Collegiate, winning 2-0.
In senior boys action, Central Collegiate defeated Peacock 3-1, while Briercrest Christian Academy swept Cornerstone Christian School 3-0.
On the girls side, Vanier's Tier One squad earned a 3-1 win over Rouleau, while Peacock blanked Central 3-0 in a Moose Jaw matchup. Cornerstone Christian School also picked up a 3-0 victory over Briercrest Christian Academy in Tier One girls play.

South Rural League race goes down to the wire
The race for first place in the South Rural Division of the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association Football League will come down to the final week of the regular season.
The Moose Jaw Central Cyclones, Swift Current Colts and Yorkton Raiders all enter the weekend with identical 4-1 records.
The Cyclones face a critical matchup tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Swift Current to take on the Colts, with first place implications on the line.

In NHL action Wednesday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Nashville Predators 5-4 in overtime.
The Ottawa Senators dropped a 5-3 decision to the Detroit Red Wings, while the Montreal Canadiens fell 6-4 to the Carolina Hurricanes.
