So, the DFFH is in the news today.  The new general manager of the "Downtown Facility and Field House," AKA Mosaic Place and YaraCentre, was talking about stable finances and how we're maintaining our facilities.

While it might not be financially feasible right now, I'd sure like to hear about a plan for the future.  It's my opinion that these facilities could be and should be better.

You see, there's room for expansion.  I think we should build more suites on the 2nd level at Mosaic Place.  We could and should have suites going right around the building.  I remember one city councillor calling that "catering to the rich and famous" a few years ago.  He was right and we should.  Local affluent people would be lined up to rent those spots.

Over at YaraCentre I can envision an addition that could include a couple of tennis courts.  Wouldn't that be nice?  I can also see some proper locker rooms and maybe a steam and sauna and treatment rooms.  We could have a hot tub too!

I know we're in deep with our resources directed at infrastructure these days but I also know you've gotta spend money to make money.
