It was announced Monday night that the Director of Education for the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division, Sean Chase, will be leaving his post and heading to Regina this summer.

Accepting a job with the Regina Catholic School Division, Chase is no stranger to Regina and worked there before his three-year stint here in the Friendly City.

"What prompted the change is history. My entire career as an educator prior to coming to Holy Trinity was entirely in the Regina Catholic School Division. I went to elementary and high school there, I did all of my university and involvement as a pre-intern and intern in the Regina Catholic School Division, and our kids have gone through that school division."

Chase will be done with the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division on June 30 and will be starting in Regina on July 1. He said there are plans in place for him to stick around long enough to help the transition once his successor has been chosen.

The board will start looking for his replacement in the next few weeks. Whoever is chosen will start early enough that Chase has time to get them accustomed to the work and help them prepare for the work ahead.

Over his three years in Moose Jaw working with the division, Chase says there are a lot of people he would like to thank, and there is a lot he is proud of.

"I have been very fortunate during my three years here to have worked with incredible people in this school division, not just our staff but our students and families. Our staff has done an absolutely outstanding job of responding to the pandemic right from the beginning in March of last year."

Chase went on to say he was also very pleased with the work the division has done working toward Truth and Reconciliation, welcoming new Canadians, and supporting all students and families who are sexually diverse.

The Holy Trinity Catholic School Division operates schools in Moose Jaw, Swift Current, and Shaunovan.

It was just announced in December that the Director of Education with the Prairie South School Division will also be leaving at the end of this school year.
