Today's lucky winner was Peter Rhodes of Assiniboia who paid it forward to Robin Delorme. Here is what Peter had to say about his farming operation:
"I am the 4th generation farmer in my family. My great-grandfather homesteaded the quarter in 1907, where my wife and 3 children and I now have our home. My dad and I farm together. We use direct seeding practices and crop rotation between cereal and pulse crops. This preserves soil moisture, prevents soil-borne disease, decreases residue, and provides weed control. My father is a heavy-duty mechanic and experienced welder and I have a background as an engineer. Drought and grasshoppers, high input, and fuel costs are challenges we face as farmers. But I still know it is the best place to live and raise a family."
Courtney Fielder called Peter up to see how harvest is going and to award him with $50 to Carols Catering & Cafe:
