Canadians will be heading to the polls on September 20th.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is meeting with Governor-General Mary Simon this morning and is expected to ask her to dissolve Parliament, triggering a 36-day long election campaign.

The last federal election was held in the fall of 2019 and saw the Liberal Party form a minority government with the NDP holding the balance of power. At the end of the most recent sitting of Parliament, there were 155 Liberal MPs and 119 Conservative MPs. The Bloc Quebecois held 32 seats, while the NDP had 24. There were two Green Party MPs, five independents and one vacant seat.

Here in Saskatchewan, all 14 seats were held by the Conservatives.

More to come.
