With technology ever changing, it has only become easier for sexual predators to invade the lives of children across the country and this week two new pieces of legislation were introduced to counteract the threat.

The first law introduced would make it a crime to send sexually explicit material to a child with the purpose of committing a sexual offence. The second would make it illegal for two adults to communicate using telecommunications with the intent of committing a sexual offence against a child.

Signy Arnason is with the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and says their website cybertip.ca will work much more efficiently with the two new amendments added to the Criminal Code of Canada. "Having a central repository to go into before that information gets farmed out certainly has enormous value to police across the country and to the Canadian public because we can speak to what's going on in this country."

While the new proposed amendments to the Criminal Code are being debated, six sex offenders are being sought by RCMP.

38 year old Clifton Anthony Minty is from Swift Current but has been known to frequent the Prince Albert and Moose Jaw areas. 25 year old Matthew Kenneth Chartrand of Regina, 24 year old Glen Russell Campbell of Regina, 57 year old Ralph Cedric Bird of Christopher Lake, 30 year old Leonard Jacob Bird of La Ronge and 28 year old Christina Nicole Laliberte of Saskatoon, are all wanted by police right now.

All have warrants against them for being non-compliant to the Sex Offender Information Registration Act. If anyone has any information as to their location, you're asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
