The Monkey Bars Play Center is hosting a New Years' Eve event at the Town 'n' Country Mall.

The center is looking for a couple more food vendors to showcase their best dishes at the event. The owner of the center and organizer of the event, Joey Russell, wants this vendor position to be an opportunity for new restaurants or bakeries in Moose Jaw to demonstrate what's on their menus.

"I was hoping it could be a really great platform for a new business that maybe wants to show Moose Jaw what kind of items they have available and, you know, obviously that's great advertising for a restaurant to be able to showcase and show off what they can do with their food," she said. People looking to sign up to be a vendor can contact them through their Facebook page.

The event's capacity is 500 people.

The event begins at 6 pm and goes on until 1 am. Parents are welcome to bring their kids along for the first few hours. There will be games, activities, and a Frozen-themed photo booth for the kids to enjoy. There will also be a count-down balloon drop event at 9:30 for the kids to participate in. However, after 9:30 the party becomes adult only. The adults will also get to enjoy games and activities. There will be a DJ, a cash grab game, and many other things. There will also be a beer garden open throughout the entire night for parents and individuals to take part in.

Safe ride options will be accommodated for anyone at the event starting at 9:30.

The event is open to everyone in Moose Jaw and the surrounding area. As it is an indoor event, the center must follow public health mandates. The center will be checking vaccination statuses but they will have a COVID-19 testing center on-site for anyone unvaccinated who is wishing to attend.

"It's been such a hard couple of years and the community was so great with the giving tree like the miracle tree program that we offered at the beginning of December. This was just an opportunity for me to do something really fun and give back and this as a fun night for the community but (I want to) do it in like a safe way and still be able to have like fun experiences," says Russell.

Ticket prices start at $10 for children, $20 for adults, $60 per family, and health care workers only pay $15. Tickets can be purchased at the Monkey Bars Play Center on Main Street North or by contacting the center through its Facebook page. People can also visit their page for more information.
