The Moose Jaw Giants cruised to a 8-1 win over the winless Regina Gold on Tuesday night at Memorial Field in Ramber Park Men's Fastball action.

Al Muhle got the nod on the mound for the Giants and pitched four shutout innings and only allowed one run off five hits in six innings of work.

The Giants only held a 4-1 after five innings of play until their bats came alive in the sixth.

Brett Friesen drove in a pair of runs and Darryl Callaghan and Braden Konschuk each had RBIs in a four-run sixth inning. The game was then called in the seven-run mercy rule.

The late-night game saw the Canadians made short work of the Earl Grey Rockets in the battle for first place.

Blake Dixon was on the mound and gave up one run off seven hits as the Canadians won 9-1.
