Glen George Purdy went to be with his Lord and Savior on Oct.27/22 at the age of 96 years. Glen was born Sept.24/1926 in Aneroid Saskatchewan to Hubert and Pearl Purdy. Glen started his adult years teaching in BC and then in Herbert, Sk. where he met the love of his life Esther Ewert. They were married shortly after. His family farming background drew him back and they settled on his farm near Briercrest. As the family grew they relocated to Moose Jaw to his home until a couple months before his passing. Glen was involved at the Moose Jaw Alliance Church for many years as an adult Sunday school teacher and as an elder. Glen and Esther also loved to bowl. They also loved games nights with friends. Glen continued to farm until his retirement. Farming was Glen’s life. Even after retirement he continued to help on the farm until the last couple years. Glen always loved cars and in his retirement he combined that with the love of spending time with his brother Gordon by renting different kinds of cars and touring southern Saskatchewan together. They also enjoyed their favorite restaurant meals together.

Glen was predeceased by his wife Esther, his parents Hubert and Pearl, his siblings Leonard Purdy (Greta), Gordon Purdy (Marg), and Myrtle Aaston. He is survived by his sons Dwight Purdy (Katherine), Ron Purdy (Janet), Garth Purdy (Dianne), Rob Purdy (Darcy), his grandchildren Cherise Erdmann (Jeremy), Alissa Purdy, Kecia Stevens (Robby), Mateah Purdy, Nicole Purdy (Prabin), Michael Purdy (Calla), as well as many great-grandchildren.

A very special thank you is extended to the staff at Dr. F. H. Wigmore Hospital for their outstanding care both in his initial stay and return for his final day.  Also to Moose Jaw Extendicare for their care his last few weeks.

As per Glen’s wishes a private family gathering will be held. In Lieu of flowers any donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.jonesparkview.com (Obituaries). Chrystine Dacey - Funeral Director
