Gordon James Ward

Gordon James Ward of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital at the age of 87.

Gordon was born in Cardross, Saskatchewan, on August 31, 1935. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Luella Ward, in-laws Fred and Louise Ferguson, infant brother Gilbert, sister-in-law Rose Ward, and sisters-in-laws Yvonne (Bernie) Forbes, and Pat Ferguson.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Marjorie (Ferguson), son Lawrence (Pam), daughters Ellen (Don), Lana (Garth), grandchildren Jesse (Lana), Chelsea, Lindsey, Eric (Chantal), Danielle (Jered), Lauren, Brodie (Brittany), Bryce (Melissa), Brock (Sara), great grandchildren Rowan, Grace, James, Kate, Kane, Emery, Jaxton, Beckett, Oliver, Waylon, Leo, Sawyer, Boston, Conlin, brothers Glen Ward, Gene (Rolene) Ward, brothers-in law Don (June) Ferguson, Dale Ferguson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gordon and Marjorie ranched near Mortlach for 55 years.  He loved his horses, music, NASCAR, but most of all spending time with family and friends.  Over the years he was very involved with the community, Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Moose Jaw Legion and the Equestrian Unit of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday May 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion United Church, 423 Main St. N., with Reverend Tim Ellis officiating.  Social to follow at the Moose Jaw Shrine Club 1767 Main St. N.

The family would like to thank the hospital staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital for their kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Moose Jaw Shrine Club Travel Fund.
