It's was opening on Monday.

Dave Batters, Conservative MP for the Palliser riding, Moose Jaw North MLA Glenn Hagel, Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Deb Higgins and Mayor Al Schwinghamer gathered with community partners today to officially open up Wakamow Place.

Brenda Walper-Bossence is the chairperson for the Moose Jaw Non Profit Housing Association and she explains what "Wakamow Place" is.

"It has been ten years in the making. It is for those persons who are with severe mental illness and just by the fact of the last 10 years of working towards the goal of getting this built and by the fact that since built it's been zero vacancy, that shows the need, in our view anyway."

The facility has 16 housing units as well as a resource centre attached.

The project received a total of 880 thousand dollars from all levels of government.
