Harvest is a busy time of year for farmers, so Golden West Radio along with Global Ag Risk Solutions Grain Rush has been delivering lunch to some lucky farmers over the last few weeks.

This week the lucky family were the Waldenbergers, who got to enjoy some barbeque delivered right out to their farm near Marquis.

Grain Farmer Chris Waldenberger spoke about the progress of the grain harvest as of Friday.

"We're somewhat fortunate in this part that we have been able to get going, parts north of Davidson, they've barely turned a wheel. That again, this time last year we were done all of our cereals and lentils at that point, so we're definitely behind, but as long as the weather holds out we'll do just find."

Waldenberger went on to explain just exactly what has been halting the progression of the harvest.

"Probably a lot had to do with the cool and progressively wet, late spring, early summer. We're happy to see the moisture, but came a little later then what one would like, and didn't quite get as many hot days as what we would have needed in August. Never say no to moisture, but we'll take it as we get it I guess."

One lucky farm family will also win the Grand Prize $1000 of FMC Products from Parrish & Heimbecker.
