Volunteers at the Habitat for Humanity build site on Ominica Street East had some extra help this past week from some special guests.

Have Boots Will Travel, a group of friends mainly from Regina, came to Moose Jaw to give a lending hand.

The Have Boots Will Travel team generally takes part in Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village builds across Canada and around the world.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea of traveling around the globe to help with builds was put to a halt, so Have Boots Will Travel decided to help with builds here in Saskatchewan.

“In addition to volunteering locally, this group has traveled together on 10 builds and will bring a lot of experience and knowledge to the build site,” said Donna Watts, Habitat for Humanity chapter lead.

“During their time at the build site the past few days, they've been working on the siding and the bottom skirting.”

Habitat for Humanity is currently building a duplex at 1015 Ominica St. E. Shovels hit the ground last August and it is tentatively set to be completed early next year.
