Holy Trinity Catholic School Division is expecting to receive additional funding due to increased enrollment this school year.

September 30 data shows an enrollment of 2,345 students at Holy Trinity, the second-highest attendance in the past decade.

"We were initially funded based on our projected enrollment. With us being 93 students over projection or 4.1 per cent the Ministry will adjust our funding in December, typically is when they make the adjustment," explained CFO, Curt Van Parys.

He says the new funding will help cover additional teaching supports that were required.

The data shows that there were 124 students in Grade 9 at Vanier Collegiate, the highest total in the past decade. Van Parys notes kindergarten numbers are also doing well with 196 students, the third-highest total in the past decade.

The province has announced an additional $15.5 million in operating funding for the 2022-23 school year as a result of the significant enrollment increase across Saskatchewan.
