The annual family-fun Pumpkin Harvest Festival will be returning to Moose Jaw this weekend.

Head down to Grey Ave Gardens on September 24, from 10 am - 2 pm in support of Hunger in Moose Jaw and the Yara Community Gardens.

Hunger in Moose Jaw's Executive Director Sharla Sept says that lots of help went into organizing the event.

“We have a great big group of volunteers that help get the festival going. We rely on our gardens and gardeners, and the people involved in the organization,” says Sept.

"We invite everyone to come join us, as the event is completely free."

There will be lots going on, including a chili and hot dog lunch donated by the Moose Jaw Co-op, Farmers Market, 50/50 raffle, vendors - Savem Sweets and the Queen of Caramel, henna designs, kids’ activities, and of course, the Pumpkin Sale.

This year will also be host to the inaugural Baking Silent Auction. Residents are invited to create a baked good and drop it off at Hunger in Moose Jaw by Sept. 23.

The homemade baking will be up for bid at the festival and 100 per cent of the proceeds go into Hunger in Moose Jaw programming.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third highest bids received, as well as a prize for the most creative recipe.

If you would like to contribute an item to the baking auction, please contact the office at 306-692-1916.
