Meet Hunter, a hero with a wagging tail! This courageous dog from the Moose Jaw Humane Society helped save the life of a fellow furry friend with a blood transfusion.

Dana Haukaas the Executive Director of the MJHS said they received a call from the vet about a puppy that was not doing well, "We received a call on Sunday afternoon from one of the vet clinics that they had a very sick puppy who had eaten something poisonous, and he was bleeding out of his nose. His PCB levels were very, very low and he needed a blood transfusion, so they asked us if we had a big dog who would be willing to help them out. And we ran over with Hunter, and he was so excited to help out, he took it like a champ. He (Hunter) had to be sedated lightly. They took the amount of blood that they needed transfused into the puppy, and the puppy went home the next day."  Hunter is not the first of the shelter dogs to have helped another dog that needed blood transfusions.

Heroic Hunter is looking for his forever home currently. He is a Retriever, Golden / Retriever, and Chesapeake Bay mix and is a year and five months old.
