It may be our right as a Canadian citizen but it’s also our responsibility, so get out and vote in Election 2007.

The speeches have been made, the platforms have been released, and now its up to us to decide who will make the best government for Saskatchewan.

Today is Election Day as we vote for our leaders for the next four years. Ballots will start being marked at 9 o'clock as polls open.

After seeing the amazing turnout to the advance polls, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Dave Wilkie is expecting a lot of ballots to count.

"We anticipate that it will be busy but we don't know of course because that may mean the numbers will be slightly down because everyone turned out for the Advance Polls but we expect that ourselves and the Returning Officers will be busy."

Wilkie says we should start getting results shortly after the polls close at 8pm.

"Some of them might start trickling in around 8:30, by 9 or 9:30 the majority should be in but some of the Advance Polls with a heavy turnout might be some of the last to report, probably later in the evening because they've got such large numbers that turned out for the Advance Polls."

We'd like you to join us for election coverage tonight.

"Decision 2007 - The Provincial Election" starts tonight when the polls close at 8 o'clock on 800 CHAB.

We'll feature reports with up-to-the-minute results from across the province, tapping into our resources on the Golden West Radio Network.

In a related story, charges will not be laid in the case of a group of Facebook users who posted videos and pictures of themselves kicking down election signs this week.

The candidate that appeared to be the target has decided against charges after receiving an apology from the teens.

Anyone defacing or removing election signs could face a fine of 5000 dollars or two years in jail.
