For residents looking to help clean up the community this spring, the City of Moose Jaw has an event for you.

They have declared Sunday, May 7, “Community Clean Up Day” in Moose Jaw.

The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will be hosted by the city’s Community Clean Up Committee. They are asking residents to come out to pick up the garbage and tidy up their respective areas within Moose Jaw.

Things get rolling at 10:00 a.m. at the Moose Jaw Co-op Marketplace parking lot (500 1st Avenue Northwest) and garbage bags will be supplied by the committee.

The event will wrap up with a “thank barbeque courtesy of the Moose Jaw Co-op.

“The City of Moose Jaw’s Community Clean Up Committee’s objective is to encourage groups and individuals to create a higher level of ownership and pride in their neighborhoods,” said Kim Robinson, City Councillor and Clean Up Committee Chairperson. “We’re asking our business owners, residents, and schools to chip in and clean up Moose Jaw.”

Any resident or group interested in participating can email: cleanup@moosejaw.ca and let us know which area of Moose Jaw you’d like to help clean up.
