$905.35 raised for Joe's Place Youth Centre
At our last Taste of Summer Charity BBQ, we raised $905.35 for Joe's Place, with proceeds supporting programs and activities for local youth.
Joe's Place Youth Centre program director Kyle McLean said community support helps the organization continue offering a variety of opportunities for local youth.
"We do a lot of outdoor activities with our youth as well as work skills, so we'll go canoeing, kayaking, we'll go paintballing, and do a bunch of other things like that," McLean said. "We also teach kids work programs or work skills programs."
McLean said Joe's Place has been serving Moose Jaw youth for about 30 years and continues to make a positive impact in the community.
"We've been in Moose Jaw for about 30 years, so we have a lot of people out of our program through the years. You can see the change that happens in individuals that get to be part of our program, and it just gives a lot of opportunities to youth here in the city that they wouldn't normally have," he said.
