After months of seemingly no events, this Friday will see live music return to Moose Jaw.

Lumsden artist Justin LaBrash will be putting on a concert at the Town and Country Mall parking lot, all in support of - and with support from - Joe's Place.

Joe Duek, founder/director of Joe's Place explains how the partnership came about.

"We're dependant on donations and May and June 2020 revenues have been down by about 30% compared to last year. We were contacted by local country music artist Justin LaBrash, they offered to do a fundraising concert for Joe's Place. They just asked that we would help with some of the security, and guiding vehicles into parking spots that they need to be in."

"We'll send a few of our volunteers down there and they'll train us and show us how to lead the cars into where they need to go, then the money raised will go to the youth centre. It's pretty amazing. From what I understand, everything that they make over and above their expenses will be going directly to Joe's Place."

The show will be Friday evening starting at 7, with tickets costing $35 per vehicle in advance or $40 at the gate.

Justin LaBrash said they decided to pair up with a charity because it seemed like the right thing to do.

"I knew that we needed to do something with a charity. With the pandemic, I can't play shows, but also charities cant do their regular fundraising. So we asked around what a local charity in Moose Jaw was that could use our help. Joe's Place came up quite a bit, they normally have a ton of events which have all had to be cancelled, so we figured we would partner up with them and we made it work."

LaBrash talks about how his outdoor concert series has gone so far

"They've been going great. We did the very first one in Saskatchewan in Lampman, which was almost four weeks ago. Last week we did one in Regina as well, they've been going great. The response has been awesome. I'm very excited, its going to be fun! It's kind of like a hometown show for me."
