While we all are - or should be - focusing on keeping our hands and face clean, it's also important to keep our vehicles sanitized and disinfected.

Alena Fayant working on disinfecting and sanitizing a vehicle

Alena Fayant is the Auto detailing manager at Bud's & Sud's Carwash & Grill. She says while business has definitely slowed down, there are still lots of people coming in to have their vehicle sanitized and disinfected.

Fayant walks us through the process.

"To stay on the safe side right now, what I do is I get the customer to put the keys on the windshield where they then get sanitized. I sanitize the entire vehicle, and then I go in and start the process of the complete detail. Then we go ahead with the disinfectant inside the shampooer, once that is all finished, it gets sanitized one more time."

"Personally, I would go to a detailer first to get the whole process done. For self-care there and after I would disinfect and sanitize basically everything that I touch like the rearview mirror, the shifter, door handles, steering wheel, stuff like that. The stuff you touch when you are driving somewhere."

Fayant says the average interior detailing takes about 4 of 5 hours with proper drying time, but with the disinfecting and sanitizing, it can take an extra hour and a half or two hours more.

Bud's and Sud's Carwash & Grill serves as a restaurant, carwash, shuttle service, taxi company, as well as an auto detailer.
