Help wanted adds are no longer getting the results businesses want so employers are now actively searching for that special someone.

Unemployment is down and that's creating problems for businesses and corporations across Canada.

There was a time when you didn't even have to place a help wanted add and an employer could fill a position. Now, executives are actively scouting potential employees and sometimes enticing them to leave their current job.

It's happened at City Hall here in Moose Jaw according to City Manager Gary McKay.

"The newest thing is the private business market is affecting us as well. The option is there to go into the private sector and that's a new element and one that hasn't been prevalent in the last few years and not only go into the private market but at the compensation levels equal to or higher than what we're paying."

So, McKay says they have to offer something better than just wages. They now have to offer better benefits and a better quality of life.
