After a year off and the forming of a new committee, the Little Princess Ball will be returning to Moose Jaw in 2024 for the thirteenth time.

Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday, December 8th at 10 a.m., and the ball will take place on April 27th and Apil 28th at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Co-chair of the ball, Kate Szeles, is on the committee for the first year, and said they’re excited about bringing the event back.

"It has such a great history in this town, and it’s really cherished by the community. I believe that it was greatly missed in 2023. We’ve only just officially put out announcements in the last two weeks, and the buzz we’re getting is already great.”

The ball allows children an opportunity to dress up, and they have the chance to visit with a number of princes and princesses. While the details of exactly what people will experience at the event are kept a secret until everyone arrives at the event, there is typically a dinner, crafts, and dancing according to Szeles.

“[It’s] to bring families together, for a really fabulous night of making memories, getting dressed up, getting their hair done and escaping into a glittery, elaborate princess-themed wonderland. A night to take away the worries of the world, while also supporting a facility that is used by our whole community.”

Funds raised at the event go towards the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. The last time they held the ball, they raised over $43,000 for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, and they plan to once again donate to the foundation.

This year, they are changing how tickets are sold for the ball. As of 10 a.m. on Friday, tickets can either be purchased online at Sasktix, or for those who want to purchase tickets in person, they will be available for sale at the Moose Jaw Events Centre box office.
