A Moose Jaw woman has completed a life long dream and it happened Tuesday night in New York with her mother in the audience.

Kara Tremel studied at Doris Sitter School of Dance, performed on stage while attending Moose Jaw's Peacock Collegiate and is now a Broadway star after making her debut as part of the show Jersey Boys. First auditioning for the show in 2007, Tremel has been with six different companies that have produced the show around the world.

"I kind of stopped for a little while, thinking that maybe I'd give it up and move onto something else and then two weeks ago I got the phone call and they were like 'Do you want to come and do it on Broadway?' I was in shock!" said Tremel from New York Wednesday morning. "Up until last night, I was still like, is this happening?"         Chris Rasmussen spoke with Kara from New York Wednesday

To make the story even sweeter, her mother Margaret Neff secretly flew into New York to be there for the show.

"She flew in and surprised me the night before and I didn't think that she could make it." explained Tremel choking back tears. "My boyfriend and her and everybody planned this big surprise and she came in and woke me in the morning and was standing in the room and was like 'I wouldn't miss this moment.'

Neff was just as excited as her daughter to finally see a dream come true after so many years, saying Kara deserved to be on Broadway many years ago but she was so pleased to finally see it happen.

"It was breathtaking." said Neff. "I cried the moment she entered the stage. My body is still buzzing and it's more than I could have ever dreamed for her."

Tremel will be with the New York production through January, giving friends and family plenty of time to make the drip down from Canada to see the show.
