The Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association “Region A” championships took place at Peacock Collegiate over the weekend. 

The top two competitors in each division qualified for the provincial championships. 

In the boys' singles event, Central's Harry Lin won with a perfect 5-0 record. However, he will not be able to attend provincials allowing Briercrest's Ike Wong, who finished third, to qualify for the provincial championship.

Kenzie Behrns from Cornerstone Christian School had an undefeated record of 5-0 and will head to provincial in the girls’ singles event. 

In the boys’ doubles event, Assiniboia’s Keaton Hillmer and Ry Reid finished in first place with a 5-0 record. Central’s Jaylon Salido-Porter and Ember Dusomme has a record of 4-1 in the mixed doubles event and qualified as the number two team. 

Badminton provincials take place on May 14 in Rosthern.
