A major intersection is Moose Jaw is now under construction and will be for at least the next month, or longer depending on the weather.

Main and Thatcher Drive East is getting a re-configuration after the city announced the plans earlier this summer. The plans were met with some public backlash and a quick redesign was needed to add a service road off ramp.

Manager of Engineering Colin Prang explains the intersection sees a lot of accidents and they hope to prevent them by blocking north and south traffic in the east service road.

"It's going to be very weather dependant." explained Prang, adding that they will have to be very lucky with the weather to get it all done before the snow falls. "It's about a month so for paving we'd like to see the weather at five degrees or warmer."

As part of the work, a service road connector is being built north of the Main Street intersection.  That's actually the first step in the $500,000 project.
