While there's not much to be done that will make child birth easier, the Saskatchewan government is trying to make the paperwork a bit easier.

eHealth Saskatchewan has partnered with Employment and Social Development Canada and Canada Revenue Agency to make it easier for parents to apply for federal and provincial benefits for their newborn children.

Susan Antosh, CEO of eHealth, said that instead of multiple applications for a birth certificate, SIN card, Canada Child Benefits, and a health card, the system will be streamlined.

"Our aim here was to make it as simple as easy as possible. It's basically a one page application form, they can do any of those things that they want to with that and they leave the hospital without any paperwork or follow up that they have to do."

Antosh said that though the service is only available in paper form right now, they are moving to have everything online soon.
