GUILLAUME

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Jeanne Guillaume, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4th, 2022 with family by her side.  Thank you to the Weyburn Special Care Home for taking such good care of our mom.

Margaret was born January 18th, 1938 in the Highview district, SK.  She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1995 after 32 years of marriage.  Margaret was the eighth of nine children born to Fern and Stanley Dorrance.  She attended High View Elementary School.  In 1953 her parents retired to Wawota, SK where she attended high school.  Her years growing up were very memorable.  She enjoyed card parties, picking saskatoons and wild raspberries, riding and showing the Shetland ponies, small town fairs, snaring gophers, building snow forts and Christmas concerts.  Trips to town with her dad and the team of horses was always a highlight.  Sundays were spent visiting neighbors or trips to Kenosee Lake for picnics and ice cream.  Margaret enjoyed community dances especially the ones at Kenosee.

In 1956, Margaret attended the Saskatchewan Training School in Moose Jaw, SK and graduated in 1959 as a psychiatric nurse.  She worked as a psychiatric nurse at Valleyview Centre in Moose Jaw.

Margaret met Peter Guillaume in 1961 and they were married October 6th, 1962.  Together they farmed at Marquis, SK and raised four children.

Margaret will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter, Nancy and her children Thea (Mark) Leibel: Anna and Alice, Alex, and Jenna (Nicolas Villeneuve); daughter, Pam (Terry) Gutzke and their children Tiffany (Lane) Martinka: Brandt, Garrett, and Natalie; Brodie (Leslie): Grady, and Stran; Tallie (Marsh) Thompson: Dennon, Haze; Ryley (Shelby): Lynley, Layla, and Kash; Tyson (Taylor); son, Sheldon; son, Trevor (Melissa); brother, Clair Dorrance; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret took great pride in her home.  She spent many hours knitting, sewing, cooking and baking for her family.  Margaret was involved in many community organizations such as 4H, CWL, Community Club and Toastmasters.  Margaret loved to travel, shopping and fashion, entertaining, meals in the field, Grey Cup parties, and camping and fishing trips.  Buffalo Pound was a family favorite.

Margaret retired to Moose Jaw in 2008.  With her many girlfriends, she attended card parties, concerts, live theatre, casinos and bus trips.
