The past seven weeks of Moose Jaw and Mac the Moose making headlines all around the world have boiled down to this very moment. Two representatives of the communities are about to meet and discuss the "Moose Feud."

Deputy Mayor of Stor-Elvdal, Linda Otnes-Henriksen, is arriving in Moose Jaw late Friday night to participate in the "Moose Summit," which will be a week-long event where Mayor Fraser Tolmie, Tourism Moose Jaw Executives, and other City officials will show Otnes-Henriksen our city and all that it has to offer.

Part of the "Moose Summit" is the potential discussion of the two communities twinning together. This is something new to Mayor Tolmie, but he said he's looking forward to the conversations ahead and detailed where they plan to start.

"Part of it is obviously opening up the communication line between our two communities, which has already happened with the moose standoff that we have. But also looking at some of the things we have in common... and we're going to be having conversations, and I look forward to her meeting our council and our community," sad Tolmie. "For Linda to be able to meet our people and get to know the citizens of Moose Jaw, I think that's going to be the greatest thing. Our assets are our people; this community has so much to offer because the people are open, kind, and generous and I'm really proud to be the mayor of our community."

Despite gearing this trip towards the communities twinning and Otnes-Henriksen making the long trip to Saskatchewan and Moose Jaw, Mayor Tolmie said they haven't made any plans for him to travel to Norway.

"Not as of yet; obviously we want to make sure that Linda is very welcome here. Our focus is on her getting to know our community and making sure that this is compatible, and if future plans arise then we'll look at that, but right now there's no plans for me to go to Norway."

The Deputy Mayor of Stor-Elvdal will be shown a number of stores and restaurants, along with a stop out at 15 Wing, possibly seeing a Moose Jaw Warriors game, and of course, formally meeting Mac the Moose.
