Many meteorologists and storm enthusiasts spent much of the day Thursday tracking storms and watching weather patterns.

"The moisture that's going to occur today and into Friday morning will likely run in an erratic manner across the area. It looks like the west-central parts of the province will probably see the lightest amounts of rain," explained Drew Lerner with World Weather Inc.

"There's some areas down across the U.S. boarder south of Highway 1 that are getting some showers and thunderstorms and will likely see this precipitation increase through the middle of the day. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur in many locations across Saskatchewan."

Once all the wet systems clear out of the province and we move into more favourable, sunny weather, Lerner expects things to dry up for the foreseeable future.

"The drier biased weather that will evolve is expected to stay with us through the first half of the next week and maybe a little bit longer. A couple of surface high pressure systems will dominate much of the next week and prevent significant rainfall from occurring."
