Moose Jaw North MLA Warren Michelson is remembering Lt. Gov. Thomas Molloy fondly.

Molloy, who was this province's 22nd Lt. Gov, died earlier this week at age 78. Molloy had only been in the role for just less than a year and a half.

Michelson remembered Molloy's gentlemanly nature.

“I would think the best way to describe him would be very hospitable,” said Michelson. “He was a very polite individual but he was very easy to communicate with.”

Molloy was a well-respected lawyer who worked on several important treaty settlements. Michelson remembered the man behind the role of Lt. Gov.

“He seemed to be somewhat quiet,” Michelson said. “He wasn’t an outgoing, obnoxious kind of person. But he was very welcoming, very homey as far as making you feel at home with him. He’d be very easy to talk to.”

In the short time he was there, Michelson said Molloy would be remembered fondly.

There are books of condolence available in Regina and Saskatoon. Meanwhile, flags at provincial buildings will be flown at half-mast.
