The Moose Jaw Midget AA Warriors struggled to start the year, but they’ve found a good groove over the last two weeks that has seen them win three of their last four games.

The Warriors picked up their second straight shutout win on Monday, skating past the Notre Dame Hounds, 4-0, at the Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox.

It was the second straight 4-0 win for the Warriors over the Hounds after they beat them here in Moose Jaw by the same score on Saturday.

Warriors goalie Jacob Winowich stopped all 32 shots to record back-to-back shutouts.

Hayden Wiebe scored twice in the first period, including just five minutes into the game.  Josh Fitzpatrick added to the lead early in the second period and Noah Braun gave Moose Jaw some more cushion 5:01 into the third period.

The Warriors were 1-for-6 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill in the win.

Moose Jaw now sits at 3-10-0 on the year.  They return to the ice next Wednesday in Regina against the Vics.

In other local minor hockey action on Monday, the Bantam AA Warriors lost 10-0 to the Prairie Storm Lightning, while the Peewee Mavericks dropped an 11-6 game to the Wood River Ice Cats.
