The Moose Jaw Miller Express lost a little bit of ground on first place in the WCBL East Division, dropping a 6-3 decision to the Red Sox on Wednesday night in Regina.

Moose Jaw got off to a strong start to go up 2-0 after the first inning with Austin Gurney hitting a two-run home run.

Regina replied with one run in the bottom of the second, and two runs each in the third and fourth innings to take a 5-2 lead.

Joe Osborn hit a double into left field in the top of the seventh that scored Darren Hagan to get the Miller Express back within two runs. However, the Red Sox put the game away with a single run.

Matt Vasquez got the start on the mound. He went four innings, giving up seven hits, five earned runs and one strikeout. Jadon Canelli, Drew Sorrentino and Jacob Castaneda finished off the game for the Miller Express.

The Miller Express continue their five games in five night tonight when they host the Weyburn Beavers at 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
