The Moose Jaw Miller Express started their six-game road trip off on a winning note doubling up the Medicine Hat Mavericks 6-3 on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Millers extend their winning streak to eight games and continue to have a four-and-a-half-game lead on the Regina Red Sox in the East Division.

As he has done all season Bryan Reyes came in clutch at the plate batting three-for-five and driving in three of Moose Jaw’s six runs.

The game remained scoreless through the first two innings before the bats came alive in the third inning.

Moose Jaw would get on the board first after an error by the Maverick's third baseman scores Austin Gurney.

Medicine Hat would respond in their half of the third inning, as Kellen Williamson would force a walk with the bases loaded to score Josh Stark, and then Deon Reese would score to make it 2-1 for the Mavericks.

Reyes would pick up his three RBIs in the fourth inning with the bases loaded he would crush a double to score Zach Campbell, Cam Grant, and Dawson Tweet to put the Moose Jaw ahead 4-1.

The Mavericks would get one back in the seventh inning to cut the lead to 4-2, but the Millers’ would seal the game with a two-run ninth inning to win and take the game 6-3.

Jesse Scholtz would get the win in relief pitching three and a third innings and allowing zero runs on four hits. Moose Jaw product Reece Helland would pick up his fourth save of the season coming to close the game out.

Moose Jaw will travel west to Sylvan Lake on Thursday to begin a two-game series with the Gulls – with the first pitch at 8:05 p.m.
