The Moose Jaw Miller Express lost a heartbreaker 4-3 in Yorkton Tuesday night, dropping their record to 0-4 on the year.

 

The Moose Jaw Miller Express were in Yorkton Tuesday with every intention of walking out with their first win of the 2007 season.

The Cardinals got on the scoreboard first as they put up one run in the bottom of the second

In the fourth, Brandon Loveridge hit a one out single, and then moved over to third on a Scott Moerike single. Eric Nutzhorn then sent a ball to center field that dropped for a single scoring Loveridge from third. Moerike came into score when Yorkton committed a throwing error on a Cory Olafson hit ball, giving the Millers a 2-1 lead.

Yorkton sent the game into extra innings when they tied the game in the bottom of the ninth.

Kent Morrison led off the Millers half of the 10th with a walk, and would later come around to score on a Chris Gordon two out single to center field. The Cardinals however were able to capitalize in the home half of the 10th, scoring two runs on two hits and one Moose Jaw error, downing the Millers 4-3.

Moose Jaw import pitcher Skylar Crawford was impressive in his debut, allowing one run off of three hits and striking out eight in five innings work.

At the plate, Eric Nutzhorn finished 2 for 4 with a RBI, and Brandon Loveridge was 2 for five.

Moose Jaw will look for their first win of the season Wednesday night when they make the trip to Melville.
