The Moose Jaw Miller Express made it seven wins in a row, as they swept the Medicine Hat Mavericks by scores of 6-2 and 10-5 in a doubleheader on Tuesday night at Ross Wells Park.

The win extends their lead to four and a half games in the Western Canadian Baseball League’s East Division over the Regina Red Sox.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Millers’ would come out of the gate firing on all cylinders tacking on four runs in the first inning. With one on and two out, Bryan Reyes would pick up his 24th RBI of the season driving in Zach Campbell off a single.

After Hudson Barrett picked up a walk to load the bases, Joe Osburn would drive in a run after an error by the Maverick's third baseman. Luke LaChance would then hit a single to score Parker Dorrance and Barrett to finish out the four-run inning.

The Mavericks would get one back in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 4-1, but that was short-lived as Cam Grant would drive in Zach Campbell from second base to put the Millers up 5-1.

Both teams would trade runs in the fifth inning, which would seal the deal for Moose Jaw as they would win the first game 6-2.

Kellan Voggesser would pitch all seven innings allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out eight in his fourth win of the season.

Moving on to game two of the doubleheader, Moose Jaw’s offense would strike early and often in the seven-inning affair. Nate Mensik would open the scoring with a solo home run for his ninth of the year. Three batters later Austin Gurney would drive in Bryan Reyes from second to give Moose Jaw the 2-0 lead after one inning.

In the second inning, Mensik would come in clutch once again driving in two runs after a fielder's choice and a Mavericks error drove in Hudson Barrett and Michael Speck to extend their lead to 4-0.

Moose Jaw would extend their lead in the fourth inning to 6-0 after Zach Campbell hits a single to drive in Hudson Barrett, and then would steal third base and cross the plate.

Medicine Hat would get some life in the fifth inning adding two runs to cut the lead to 6-2. The Millers’ though would respond in their half of the fifth adding four runs after Hudson Barrett, Michael Speck, Dawson Tweet, and Nate Mensik would all cross the plate to make it 10-2.

The Mavericks would get three runs back after a David Dell three-run homer to cut the lead to 10-5. That’s how the game would end as Moose Jaw would close the door in the top of the seventh inning to win their seventh in row 10-5.

Starter Cameron Dunn pitched four and two-thirds innings allowing only two runs on two hits while striking out three batters in the win.

Dawson Tweet and Austin Gurney drove in a run apiece, while Nate Mensik drove in three runs himself.

Moose Jaw will look to make it eight games in a row on Wednesday night as they travel to Medicine Hat to take on the Mavericks at 7:05 p.m.
