The Government of Saskatchewan announced on Tuesday that the minimum wage in the province is set to increase on Oct. 1.

The increase would bring Saskatchewan’s minimum wage to $15 per hour. The current minimum wage is $14 per hour.

The provincial government committed in 2022 to incrementally increase the minimum wage over a two-year period. In 2022, the government increased minimum wage from $11.81 to $13, with the promise to increase the minimum wage by $1 each year until it hits $15 per hour.

Since 2007, when the minimum wage was $7.95, the increase on Oct. 1 will have increased the minimum by nearly 89 per cent.
