The Board of Directors of the Moose Jaw and District Sports Hall of Fame (MJDSHOF) has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 induction ceremony, which is typically held in October.

Larry Graham. president of the MJDSHOF, says they will now host induction ceremonies for 2020, 2021, and 2022 all in one ceremony next year.

"We really want our inductees to enjoy the experience of the induction ceremonies, so we decided early on this year to postpone until 2022. We on the board will put our heads together with Mosaic Place and some other folks and figured out the best way to induct three years at one time. It's going to be a party; it's going to be exciting."

With such a large group being inducted, and an even larger crowd, Graham says they are beginning talks to see if they can use the ice surface to host the expanded event come next year.

Nominations for Athlete, Team, or Builder for the 2021 induction class can be submitted with a nomination form. Those can be acquired by emailing Info@mjdshf.com.

"We did receive a bunch of nominations last year and we didn't go through the selection process just because everything was so uncertain, so we're going to do the selection process for 2020 and 2021 before the summer hits this year, and we'll make our announcement as we normally do in September. We'll announce both the inductees for 2020 and 2021."

The deadline for nominations is May 31, and the Induction Ceremony will be held in October of 2022.

"All previously submitted nominations, currently under consideration within the 3-year eligibility guideline, will be considered in the 2020/2021 evaluation/selection process."
