There was a noticeable police presence in front of Walmart on Thatcher Drive East on Saturday morning.

According to the Moose Jaw Police Service, a team was dispatched on Saturday around 10:00 am. Sgt Kevin Pilsworth of the Moose Jaw Police Service explained what happened.

"We had a number of reports of thefts from downtown businesses and we were also alerted of a stolen vehicle that was stolen from Regina. A couple of our members were able to local the suspect vehicle, and as a result of some quick actions by our officers we were able to apprehend a total of 4 people involved in the investigation and we recovered the stolen vehicle. At the end of it, we had 4 people in custody - 2 males and 2 females."

"All of the people were not from Moose Jaw; they were actually from Regina. Charges will include possession of a stolen vehicle as well as some other charges."

"We are not releasing the names of the people at this time. One was released later that day, but the other 3 accused were held in custody."

All suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Monday. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
