A Moose Jaw-based podcast is on the air helping to provide mental health resources for people across Saskatchewan.

The Hope Collective is hosted by Dee Wilk, a second-year psychology student who has been volunteering with the Canadian Mental Health Association to do peer support work.

Through that work, she got connected with Della Ferguson and joined the Journey to Hope board.

As part of Journey for Hope, a survey was sent out late last year asking people if they knew where to go for resources during a mental health crisis. The results were surprising.

“A lot of people don't know where to go otherwise from the hospital or their doctor or emergency mental health and some of those resources are pretty overloaded right now with COVID, so we just kind of wanted to get the word out of there,” Wilk said.

The podcast highlights some of the resources available to Saskatchewan residents struggling with addiction or mental health.

The latest episode comes out today with Brenda Zinn from Moose Jaw Families for Change and next week will feature the Moose Jaw Transition House.

You can catch The Hope Collection on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast.
