Local organizers are trying to get together enough players interested in fielding a team in the Regina league as a way to spread the sport to a new generation.

After several unsuccessful attempts, Moose Jaw Rugby is giving it another shot. They're hoping to put together a high school team this season that will compete in Regina.

The Rugby program in Moose Jaw isn't a big one and one of their biggest obstacles is getting the 15 players required for a team. If they are successful in getting a high school program running it would not only spark interest in the sport in the Friendly City, but it would also feed the senior program which is currently operating.

If you're interested in playing rugby, practice is Tuesday's and Thursday's with league play begins in early May.
