The Association of Regina Realtors has released their October market outlook for the city of Moose Jaw.

The Realtors say there were 60 home sales in the city in September, down from 77 in the same month last year.

Rob Reynar, manager of Operations and Member Services with the Regina Realtors, says the dip isn't concerning. "The 60 sales, even though it was down from 2014 is actually right in line with the 5 and 10 year averages for the market as a whole. You don't want to get lost on a September to September dip.  When you look at the long-term number it's holding right where it should  be."

According to the release, inventory dipped slightly compared to last year's September numbers, but the benchmark sale price of homes rose 2.4 per cent to $230,800.

The 5 Multiple Listing Service (MLS) districts covered by Moose Jaw saw a September to September decrease in sales as well, 33 in 2015 compared to 50 in 2014.

Meanwhile, September was a good month to get a start on a new home in Moose Jaw.

The City released their monthly building permit report, which says 9 new dwelling permits were issued last month, compared to 4 in September of 2014.

That brings the total number of new home permits to 41 this year, behind the 66 that were issued from January to September of last year.
