The government of Saskatchewan announced more than $900,000 worth of charitable gaming grants on Monday, with a number of Moose Jaw organizations set to receive a boost.

In total, 13 Moose Jaw organizations are set to receive funding:

  • Moose Jaw Church of Our Lady Parish $169.54
  • Moose Jaw Father Francis Lawless Knights of Columbus #1534 $4,709.75
  • Moose Jaw Fraternal Order of Eagles #3395 Ladies Auxiliary $471.66
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Kinette Club $1,299.38
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club $10,278.25
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Miller Baseball Booster Club Inc. $672.50
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Shrine Club $7,501.00
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Warriors Booster Club $45,234.07
  • Moose Jaw Moose Jaw Women's Transition Association Inc. $274.05
  • Moose Jaw Palliser Heights Elementary School Community Council $2,962.18
  • Moose Jaw Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59 $1,147.01
  • Moose Jaw South Saskatchewan Wildlife Association $1,430.50

Groups that raise funds through licensed charitable gaming, such as bingo, raffles, etc, receive a quarterly grant equal to 25 per cent of net proceeds raised through these activities.

Groups that conduct these events do not have to apply for the charitable gaming grant. Charitable gaming reports submitted by groups and organizations are used by SLGA to calculate grants.
