The Holiday Train that made it's annual stop in Moose Jaw last week, not only gathering the largest amount of food donated in Canada but the second-highest volume of food donated in all of North America.

The event on December 17 raised a whopping 14,400 pounds of food which will all be donated to the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank, which will, in turn, stay within the community.

CP released a statement saying they are "thankful for everyone who donated at the event and helped their neighbours in need. Additionally, the generous contributions of the Moose Jaw CO-OP Marketplace, Golden West Radio, Double Barrel Trailers and Members of the Moose Jaw Fire Department contributed to the event’s success. The CP team is truly humbled by the community’s response. Thank you"

Gabrielle Belanger with CPR said "I love the CP Holiday Train and am honoured to be a part of this venture as well as this community. Together, one bag at a time we can make a difference. Thank you Moose Jaw for coming together again to help those who need our community support."
