Moose Jaw is no stranger to wild weather, but, as one meteorologist claims, the showers won't leave our city 'high and dry' this time.

Robyn Dyck, a Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, said as the forecast sits right now, we shouldn't get the feeling of deja vu when it comes to wet basements.

"There's another low [pressure system] moving in from Montana that'll bring some more rain. It does look like it moves through the area a bit quicker than the last system."

She said the amount of rain that we received last week was relative to the speed of the clouds looming overhead.

"The last system we had some flooding, so the hope is that this will move through a bit quicker so the rain won't be as prolonged or as significant."

Friday's forecast may vary as the time passes, so she reminded residents to keep their eyes peeled to the forecast to keep the current flooding risk in mind. A slow-moving rainstorm like the one experienced last week isn't typical for this time of year, and is more fitting in spring.

Since last Wednesday to Sunday Moose Jaw received 73.6 millimetres of rain or roughly 2.9 inches. Click here to see the full five-day forecast.
