A five-run seventh inning helped propel the Moose Jaw Miller Express to a 7-1 win on Wednesday night over the Weyburn Beavers, ending their seven-game losing streak.

With the win, the Millers move to 21-15 on the season and extend their lead in the Western Canadian Baseball League’s East Division to one game.

Weyburn opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning, adding one run, and held that 1-0 lead until the fourth inning.

Moose Jaw would tie the game 1-1 in the fourth inning, and later take the lead, adding another run in the sixth inning to go up 2-1 heading to the seventh.

The Millers would pile on five runs in the seventh inning, which included a three-run triple from Dawson Tweet, giving Moose Jaw the 7-1 lead.

Starter Tristan Seitz would pitch four innings, giving up the lone run of the game, on four hits, while striking out two. Moose Jaw would utilize their bullpen as four pitchers came into the game in relief, including Austin Barger who picked up the win in two innings of relief.

At the plate the leaders for the Millers were Dawson Tweet hitting one-for-two, with a triple and three RBIs, Cam Grant went three-for-six and an RBI, and Nate Mensik picked up three hits in the win.

Zach Campbell and Luke LaChance drove in a run apiece.

Moose Jaw will have Thursday off and will continue their four-game road trip on Friday against the Beavers.
