It was a golden weekend for a pair of Moose Jaw U11 hockey teams this past weekend.

The U11 A Warriors hit the road to Estevan to take on teams from Regina, Yorkton, Estevan, and 2 teams made up from several communities in the Southeast corner of the province. In the end the Warriors came out on top with a 6-2 win in the gold medal game over the hometown Estevan Bruins.

Meanwhile back in Moose Jaw the U11 classic was underway and for the first time since 2015 a Moose Jaw team took home the title.

The Moose Jaw Blackhawks rolled through the round robin with wins over the Lumsden Monarchs, Saskatoon Redwing Bulldogs, North East Rebels and Regina Panthers to finish first in their pool. They went on to defeat the Estevan Bruins in the semi-final and took a 6-3 win in the A final over the North East Rebels.
