It was a big weekend for female hockey in Moose Jaw, as the annual Mavericks Female Classic Hockey Tournament took over the city.

The tournament consisted of 30 teams across five divisions. There were two U9 divisions, and one division each for U11, U13, and U15.

In total 490 female players, which equals 30 teams and their coaches and parents from across the province called Moose Jaw home for the three-day tournament.

Moose Jaw's teams took advantage of the hometown crowd and did very well in the tournament.

The U15 Mavericks won it all taking the A Final on Sunday. The U13 Mavericks 1 lost a heartbreaker in the semi-finals and the U13 Mavericks 2 lost in a shootout in their A Final to the Parkland Prairie Fire. The U9 B Mavericks held their own and made it all the way to the A Final but came up just short.
